How can we help you?
My loved one is passing away soon
We will help you prepare for the end of life and plan the funeral. For now, we can just write, call, video chat, or meet in person.
Preparing in advance brings a greater sense of peace and acceptance when death occurs. It also gives you time: not just for handling practical matters, but for grieving, sitting quietly, and crying...
We have extensive experience supporting people in palliative care and are qualified grief counselors. Truly, being prepared for death in advance helps.
My loved one has just passed away
We will arrange the transport and care of your loved one. We will take care of the cremation or burial—and everything else, such as a modern obituary notice and then a meaningful ceremony.
We are compassionate and understanding—take a look at our reviews.
We will give you time to breathe and think things through. We do everything together, keeping you and your family in mind to choose the best options.
We can arrange everything: the coroner, a truly lovely obituary, cremation, burial, scattering ashes, the death certificate, notary, or closing social media accounts. We will give you the chance to say goodbye to the body, if you wish. Or we can simply handle just a small part of the funeral services.
I want to plan a funeral
We can find a beautiful spot indoors (such as a villa, lounge, or church) or outdoors (like a park, public garden, or riverbank). We will choose a date that works for everyone—ideally a Friday or the weekend. And then we will plan the ceremony together with you.
A funeral ceremony helps you say what you didn't manage to say in time, say goodbye, find peace (with death, with the departed, and also reconciliation among relatives),
involve those around you in your grief (colleagues, neighbors), and also—
celebrate the life of your loved one.
We will prepare a unique ceremony that will help you say goodbye. In a park, by the water, in a villa, a lounge, or a church. Together, we will write a meaningful eulogy. We will remember them together, perhaps release balloons, plant a tree...
I have an urn and want to bury it or scatter the ashes
We will help you prepare for the end of life and plan the funeral. For now, we can just write, call, video chat, or meet in person.
Together, we will place the urn in a grave, scatter the ashes in nature, into a river, or in a meadow. We will take care of all the necessary permits.
Your loved one cannot simply be "put away" or "scattered." Your soul needs at least a small ritual, a ceremony, a formal farewell. Done with respect, dignity, and creativity.
We can arrange everything to be very personal and intimate, helping you through this time. Scattering ashes in a river, a forest, planting a tree or a garden… But we can also fulfill big wishes: launching ashes into space in a rocket or balloon, or creating a custom urn from ceramics (or Lego).
I am dealing with the loss of a baby or an older child
We will be sensitive and understanding. We can handle everything from start to finish. Support at the hospital, cremation or a burial, the ceremony, state funeral allowances, and even things like a baptism.
If you never saw the baby, a ceremony will help you welcome them "among you" for the first and last time, and create at least some memories and a connection... Perhaps involving your loved ones so they can grieve alongside you. And then say goodbye to them and see them off.
Some of us have personal experience with the loss of a baby, while others hold professional certification as Bereavement Counselors. We know how to handle things so that everyone treats the baby as a respected member of society, rather than as waste. We know how to treat parents after the loss of a child so as not to traumatize them further.
I need a psychologist or a bereavement counselor
We will help you through your grief, but also with practical matters. It might not feel like it now, but this will pass. Everyone comes to terms with death in their own way. We will help you find yours.
When someone dies, it is... a huge change. You need help to: handle the shock, let out your emotions, anger, and fear, realize the reality of it, begin untying old bonds, and find your new place in life.
Everything we do is tried and tested. Everything we discuss is strictly confidential.
We will never pressure you into anything. We are practical people who will help you function in everyday life. We have psychologists on our team, and many of us hold state professional qualifications as Bereavement Counselors (69-020-M) as well as being active members of the Association of Bereavement Counselors.
I want a funeral in a foreign language in the Czech Republic
When someone close to you passes away, you are in shock. That is why people often agree to the first funeral service they find—the closest one, the one that popped up first in a search engine, or the one recommended by the hospital.
However, if you are foreigners, a standard funeral home often won't be able to accommodate you: they don't specialize in foreigners, they don't know how to blend our traditions with foreign ones, and they cannot fulfill non-traditional, "non-Czech" requests.
We know how to combine traditional ceremonies with elements of your culture alongside secular elements for attendees who may come from different backgrounds. The result is a ceremony that is beautiful for everyone. We do this regularly, and clergy members are often happy to cooperate with us because they see that it truly helps and brings peace.
In addition, we can also arrange a live stream of the funeral ceremony so that those who cannot be with us in person can still participate from afar. Everyone has the right to say goodbye.
We offer funerals in English, German, and Russian.
I want to organize a remembrance event for a loved one after some time has passed
The essence of this gathering is to meet, reminisce, say things left unsaid, help heal old relationships, and form new ones. It is meant to be a warm and relaxed get-together—definitely not to be confused with traditional All Souls' Day commemorations, which tend to be more somber and mournful.
The design of the ceremony is mostly our own European style, but we are happy to help you prepare a ceremony inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead. We know many people appreciate how the Mexicans celebrate it publicly in Prague.
Don't worry, we won't be eating on graves—although that was a tradition not only for Mexicans, but also for the ancient Slavs.
A Funeral Guide will lead us through the ceremony.
I want to arrange a farewell with someone who is dying
Let's say goodbye while we still have the strength. Let's find peace within ourselves, with death, among family, friends, and colleagues. This new concept of a pre-funeral helps us let go with a calm mind.
Thanks to a pre-funeral, we celebrate life, its joys and struggles, and we share both tears and laughter. Everyone can contribute by baking something, bringing glasses, arranging music… And all participants will surely carry this experience with them for the rest of their lives.
For the dying person, this can be a final opportunity to see guests, experience joy, and fulfill wishes that were left undone. There is no need for limitations, shame, or fear—this is entirely for us.

MEMORIAL NOTICES
Even memorial notices can have a quality design. They can be modern and airy. However, there isn't always time to create them yourself, which is why we have prepared modern templates. You choose one, and we will tailor it together. We can then print the notices on quality paper and send them by post, email, or SMS. Take a look at our memorial notices here.
-

OUTDOOR LOCATIONS
A ceremony is like a picture, and the location is the frame through which we remember it. We have prepared many beautiful places that allow for a profound experience: a park, a forest, by the water, at a river confluence, on a cliff, in a meadow… But the best choice is often a place that held special meaning for your loved one: Were they a fisherman? A hiker? A sailor? Or did they simply have a favorite hill they loved watching from their window?
-

INDOOR LOCATIONS
If we prefer to stay indoors for the funeral, it can be a historic villa with a terrace and garden (allowing us to finish the ceremony outdoors), a church or chapel, a lounge (in a theater, gallery, restaurant, or hotel), a gallery or museum, a funeral hall, a community center, a library, a loft or rooftop, a café, bar, or club, a botanical garden, a planetarium, or even a sports hall.
-

FUNERAL EULOGY
Together, we will write a meaningful and deeply personal eulogy. What they loved, what they hated, what they lived for… We will ask you to open your hearts and tell us as much as possible about your loved one. Based on your stories, we will draft the eulogy and share it with you. You will be able to edit, add to, or cut anything you like… Of course, you can also write the eulogy yourself, and we will simply read it.
-

SHARED MEMORIES
After the main eulogy, we usually invite guests to share their memories. Some will gladly join in. Someone might have a carefully prepared speech, while another will just say a few words of thanks or share a cheerful story. Both the departed and the bereaved deserve this. It is often the loveliest part of the funeral: seeing how many people cared about your loved one and hearing the lasting impact they left on their lives.
-
QUIET MEMORIES
There are always things we didn't manage to say, couldn't say, or didn't want to say... Or perhaps there just wasn't the opportunity. So now we can write them down: on little paper boats, on balloons, on the coffin, on the urn, or simply on pieces of paper that we then burn in a ceremony vessel. We can set the boats afloat on a river, or release balloons into the sky—we call this sky mail.
Simple elements have a powerful effect on both adults and children. Fire is an ancient symbol of death, but also of purification. For human beings, fire is essential to earthly life: it gives warmth, provides light, and brings comfort, joy, but also pain. Without it, life would not exist. Water symbolizes the cleansing of the soul and freedom, while the river represents the flow of life.
-

INVOLVING GUESTS
It is very beneficial when guests can be actively involved in the ceremony. This helps them experience the service and begin the grieving process: realizing that our loved one is no longer here and that a new chapter of life without them is beginning. It is much like learning: you need to see things, hear them, write them down, and touch them... It doesn't take much: writing a message on a piece of paper, releasing a balloon, saying a few words, or tossing a flower or a few petals into the water... We also welcome musicians, singers, poetry readers, sculptors, and florists...
Sometimes we plant a tree or a small garden together, occasionally we assemble an urn out of Lego bricks, or we carry the coffin or urn—or "simply" place the urn into the grave together with our own hands.
-

SCATTERING OR BURIAL
We can bury the coffin or urn, or scatter the ashes in places that mean a lot to you—where the deceased loved to be, or where you will feel close to them.
Ashes may be scattered practically anywhere, provided we have the permission of the landowner, which we will gladly help arrange. The same applies to burying ashes in the ground. Scattering ashes on a river requires permission from the river authority.
One of our "specialties" is scattering ashes into the sky via a large balloon: we watch the balloon ascend for up to 12 minutes... We can also arrange for ashes to be launched in a rocket.
The ashes can also be divided into multiple parts, with some scattered into the sea, for example (though we do not recommend this for practicing Catholics).
-

A GIFT FOR THE DECEASED
When we accompany someone on a longer journey, we often place a final gift in their hands at the very last moment. Let's try doing this at the funeral as well. Would you like to sing together? Don't worry, we will print the lyrics for you. Or we can simply hum along to recorded music. Perhaps write a short poem for them? Say a brief prayer? Or share a parable?
-

MUSIC
Music can lift our spirits, comfort us, bring us to tears, and remind us of memories and feelings... That is why we carefully choose the funeral playlist with you, so that it supports and enhances the entire ceremony. We bring portable speakers to every service—powerful and high quality, yet discreet. We also know that live music resonates even more deeply. That is why we offer options such as a memorial violinist, cellist, piano or electric organ, harp, violin and piano, a singer with accompaniment, a string trio or quartet, and, of course, an organist for church services. Alternatively, a friend with a guitar can also participate!
-
FLOWERS REFLECTING THE DECEASED
We believe a funeral should be personal, and the floral arrangements should be too! An enthusiastic gardener had cherries, pears, and poppy seed pods woven into her wreath... A grandfather who worked in a brewery all his life had hop-based arrangements, and a Scottish person had Scottish thistles and tartan ribbons...
Our florists approach every decoration with genuine love and care.
Take a look at what our floral arrangements look like.
We can also turn flowers into a lasting picture—a memory that will not fade.
-

FINAL REFRESHMENTS
After the ceremony, we advise against simply getting up and going home. The experience needs time to settle; guests should have the chance to talk about the deceased, share memories of the ceremony, and begin forming new connections without the departed present. Small refreshments are the best way to help with this. For some, a funeral is the last time they will see certain people, such as former colleagues and distant relatives. So it gives them one last opportunity to raise a glass together.
-

SUPPORT FOR THE BEREAVED
Our care neither begins nor ends with the funeral. We offer guidance on how to prepare for death and how to handle the practical matters immediately following it. From very practical advice (sadly, we often have more experience in this area than many general practitioners) to helping you make sense of the existential weight of it all. We can help you create a basic "grieving strategy" and offer advice on how to talk to children.
In life after a loss, we can help you establish rituals to support you during times when the deceased would have celebrated a birthday, at Christmas, All Souls' Day, and other significant occasions.
-

FUNERAL FUNDING
It can happen that some families struggle to afford a funeral. Especially when the main earner of the family passes away, the bereaved may find it difficult to gather enough money to arrange a proper farewell. There is no need to feel ashamed of this – we have a solution: we can set up an online crowdfunding campaign for the funeral on a platform like Donio and include the details on the memorial card. Guests traditionally bring flowers costing over a thousand crowns to a funeral. If they send money instead, they also help the environment, and the funeral costs can be easily covered even with a small number of contributors.
-

FUNERAL PHOTOGRAPHER
Why a photographer? Because a funeral should be a celebration of the life of the person who has passed away. A celebration that will not happen again. And we always take photos at celebrations! Photos are also a wonderful keepsake of the gathering. At the ceremony, some of us may meet for the first time. And perhaps for the last time, too. We deserve to have a memory to hold onto. Our own memories fade, but photographs last. People used to do this quite naturally: many of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers have photo albums full of pictures from funerals.
While we always try to snap a few photos on our phones, pictures taken by a professional photographer will always be better.
-

FUNERAL LIVESTREAMING
Sometimes, people who simply cannot attend wish to see the funeral. They might live on the other side of the world, or perhaps they are in the hospital… Yet they still need the funeral and it helps them find closure. Bereaved individuals often experience feelings of guilt (even when unjustified), and missing the funeral can deepen those feelings. That is why we make it possible for them to take part online. It is technically simple for everyone: we most often set up a "private broadcast" on YouTube. However, we can also arrange professional multi-camera streaming, or a small, discreet stream using a single camera, mobile phone, or gimbal. Guests watching online can also actively participate in the ceremony: we are happy to read their messages or answer their questions.
FUNERAL CEREMONIES
WHAT IS WORKING WITH US LIKE?
-

WE PLAN EVERYTHING AND TAKE CARE OF THE NECESSARY STEPS RIGHT AWAY
We get to work immediately over the phone or by email, so you don't have to travel anywhere. We will explain your options, summarize them in an email, and give you plenty of time to think things over and make a choice. The most essential tasks (such as transporting the deceased) are naturally handled right away. For this, we just need a simple power of attorney signed electronically via email—no printing required on your end.
-

WE WILL ARRANGE THE FUNERAL SPEECH AND CEREMONY DETAILS
We will meet in person or online to discuss the details of the ceremony and the eulogy. We will keep you updated with a summary of everything via email, including costs. For the eulogy, we will ask you to open your heart and share as much as possible about your loved one, ensuring that everything that needs to be said is included, and nothing inappropriate is mentioned.
-

WE MANAGE EVERYTHING AT THE CEREMONY AND ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP PLAN
The entire ceremony is managed by us so you can focus on your grief and supporting other family members. We always have a Plan B in case things like the weather don't cooperate. We bring everything needed, and after the ceremony, we clean up and pack everything away. However, if you wish to be involved in the preparations, we warmly welcome it, as it helps with the grieving process. At the very least, you can choose the music, photos, and flowers.
-

AFTER THE CEREMONY, WE PROVIDE PHOTOS AND HANDLE ALL FORMALITIES
After the ceremony, we take care of everything: the registry office, the death certificate, closing social media profiles, initiating probate proceedings, and delivering the urn if needed. We will also send you photos, at least from a phone. While we recommend hiring a professional funeral photographer, most clients prefer not to, and we feel it's a pity not to have any keepsake :)
-

CEREMONY BACKUP PLAN
We always try to have a Plan B. Since many funeral ceremonies are held outdoors, we have to be prepared for bad weather. We often arrange an indoor backup location, bring plenty of umbrellas, release balloons instead of sky lanterns, or burn messages and scatter the ashes instead of floating paper boats...
-

ALWAYS A BACKUP SUPPLIER
We work with several funeral services. If one is too busy to handle what we need, another can step in right away. The same goes for musicians, florists, or caterers. And since there are now ten of us on the team, we can easily cover for one another.
-

OFFICIAL PROCEDURES AND SAFETY
Everything we do is legal and coordinated with local authorities: the municipality, town district, water management, firefighters, municipal police, or even the local airport and air traffic control. Most ceremonies are very intimate, but we still prefer to bring a fire extinguisher just in case :)
-
MAXIMUM COMFORT
At funerals, we often encounter people who are tired, frail, or ill. And our services often last an hour or longer. That’s why we strive to make the service as comfortable as possible for them. It starts with chairs, blankets, umbrellas, and water, and goes as far as, for example, outdoor gas heaters.
WE HAVE PUBLISHED A BOOK
Are you losing someone close to you? Or - purely theoretically - are you planning on passing away yourself one day? Have you ever attended a funeral that was cold, impersonal, and simply dreadful?
This book is not about caskets and wreaths. It is about why we need funerals, even when we think we don't. It is about stories from the underworld (literally) that will leave you wondering whether to cry or laugh.
